something random

feeling a bit uninspired today... so I did a little random surfing. I happened upon the "World's Finest Jokes Source!" - Jokes2Go. Okay, I'll bite... At the top of my Blog is a random oneliner from the "World's Finest Jokes Source!"

The joke should be different each time the pages loads, so let me know if the joke you see is funny or not. If there are enough chuckles, I will keep the jokes.

(if you are reading this post in an archive and there are no jokes at the top of the page, then know that they were not funny enough to keep)

**note** After 9 days, I removed the random jokes... some of them were quite funny, but I saw too many "over the top" raunchy jokes in the mix.

the house

Found the house on Sunday, and just heard that it is still available. Step one, complete! Now comes the hard part... Financing. We crunched the numbers and it all looks good, however the banks will likely see it differently. I live like a miser and have 0 debt and excellent credit, but I'm sure that I will be penalized by that 28% rule. I hate that 28% rule! (mortgage pmt + tax + insurance not to exceed 28% of gross income) We are able to put 33% down on the house, so I'm just hoping that things will fall into place and go our way!

this is one of those pivotal moments in life... hopefully I will have good news in a few days.

city chickens

to add to the biodiversity of Piedmont Park (Atlanta, Georgia), there are now 2 roosters in residence.

I first heard them last weekend on an early morning walk (thought I was losing it) & tracked them down. this morning I set off early with camera in hand. they are quite beautiful in color and markings. I'm not sure how they ended up in the city, perhaps they were pets that someone dumped off in the park (they seem to be people-friendly). they seem quite content and must be finding enough food.

I have seen quite a range of feathered friends in the park over the years ...(ducks, geese, hawks, herons, woodpeckers, bluejays, robins, mockingbirds, etc..), but I can honestly say that I never expected to see roosters. what a nice surprise.

it is time to post sad news

well... I've been away awhile. my grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago, and I just couldn't bring myself to post anything without mentioning that fact. very sad... hope she is in a much better place.

went out to look at houses last weekend. a bit discouraging, but I'm hopeful that "our house" is out there somewhere.
