A Day at the Beach

I created this matchbox shrine for a birthday RAK, and have been waiting to post about it until it arrived safely at its destination.   It was created from a standard 1-1/2" x 2" matchbox.   Most of the interior detail was painted, with a few embellishments added.

I posted a larger image and "how-to" info at my hobby site: http://hobbyloco.com/shrines.html.   There are more shrine photos over there as well.

Enjoy!

More Fun with Pocket Shrines

I enjoyed making the nature themed pocket shrine so much that I decided to make another matchbox shrine.

The theme for this one is "Under the Sea". I painted the matchbox with acrylic paints and used several little beads and buttons to create the scene. I posted all the details over at my hobby site.

I really enjoy working on a small scale, so I'm sure I'll make several more of these little shrines in the future.

Fun with Pocket Shrines

Pocket shrines are simply pocket-sized themed works of art. They are often created from matchboxes or small tins.

I had fun making this little nature themed matchbox shrine the other day. Info about how I made it can be found on my hobby website - as well as other pocket shrine photos and links to related sites.

PS. No spiders were harmed in the making of this shrine.
