WIPocalypse Update : August

Ho! Ho! Ho! It's time to start Christmas stitching AND for the August WIPocalypse update.  I just finished this little Santa ornament (freebie pattern found here: http://www008.upp.so-net.ne.jp/gera/freecharts/freechartindex.htm) for the Christmas Ornie SAL (link in sidebar).

Another small finish for me this month is "Yeow!" by Pamela Byrd Smith of The Prairie Schooler, which I stitched for the Hallowe'en Ornie SAL (link in sidebar).

AND yet another small finish this month is my Mini Butterfly, which I started in January as part of Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015 (DUCJC2015).

I made some progress on Simple Blessings by Sandy Orton.

Well ... The projects I have posted today are all new for this year.  But I do have a little bit of a journey with Multi-Coloured Alphabet ... 

Many, many years ago we had shops in our city called "bookstores".  They sold books, books, more books, and magazines.  (Sadly, these shops no longer exist today.)   I so enjoyed spending hours browsing the endless rows of books and digging through the bargain sections for hidden treasures.  It was on one of those treasure hunts that I found a little old cross stitch book called "The Book of Cross Stitch - Traditional and Contemporary Designs for Holidays and Special Occasions" by Gail Lawther.  It had some cute alphabets and holiday designs, so I picked it up at an 82% discount and brought it on home with me.  Flash forward 20 years, and I decide to finally stitch the Multi-Coloured Alphabet that I so often admired.  I started it during Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015 (DUCJC2015) and I certainly hope it doesn't take me another 20 years to finish it.  (hee-hee!)  But seriously ... I really do love that pattern & the happy colors I am using to stitch it.
