a WIPocalypse Update for January

http://measi.net/measiblog/2014/01/16/wipocalypse-2014-january-check-in/
Hi there!  For new visitors, my name is Cheryl and I live in Atlanta, Georgia USA.  I have been stitching since I was a teenager (many moons ago).  I enjoy all types of needlework and crafts, or anything creative!

This is my 3rd year participating in the WIPocalypse stitch-a-long.   Being a part of the stitch-a-long has really encouraged me to keep stitching - whether it is a few minutes, a few hours, or entire weekends.

I may only post to my blog once or twice a month ... but I haven't missed a single WIPocalypse posting!  You can view all of my projects on my WIPs page.  I do update that quite often.

My only goal for the year is to make progress on all of my projects (and hopefully finish 1 or 2).

Since the new year began, I have made the following progress:

Nature's Alphabet was a new start for me on Christmas Day.  It measures 12" x 12" on 14ct. Aida.

I made some progress on "Afternoon Nap".  This one is 5" x 7" on 18ct. Aida.

I also made progress on "Berry Patch Rooster".  This one is 12" x 12" on 14ct. Aida.

And ... I started work on a new hooked rug project: Lighthouse.  This one is a really good size to work on: 16" x 32".   I have been breezing along and am already about 20% finished.

After I finish hooking the rug, I plan on using the chart as a cross stitch pattern and making a matching stitched piece.

That's all for now.  Happy Stitching!

  1. Oh wow Cheryl. Great progress on all your pieces. I use to do a lot of latch hook, but my poor old hands don't like it anymore. Just went and looked at your WIP page. You have some beautiful pieces that your working on.

  8. I love your idea of stitching on all of your WIPs during 2014. That's a great goal and I'd like to do the same thing with my WIPs. Stitching the lighthouse to match your latch hook rug is a fantastic idea!
